We are about 5 miles from Washington in the Baltimore and Ohio R.R. almost every day a Reg't passes over the road to the seat of war, some days there are three or four go in succession…We have not as of yet had a chance to try the courage of the N.H. 5th but I hope we shall soon…as soon as possible let us have one or two more victory's…there will not be a rebel in the country. We will sweep them before winter is over to their satisfaction…we found out that were sent there to stop the Secesh from voting at the state election in and around the City of Marlboro, but there was no disturbance…There is to be a review of the Brigade by Gen.
