Rose Hill, Harris County, was settled by P.W. Rose before
1836. The Post Office was opened in 1856.
Nathaniel Hart Davis moved to Texas in 1840, arriving in Montgomery. He served as county attorney, commissioner, and Chief Justice of the 13th Judicial District from 1867- to 1807. Davis was a member
of the Somervell Experidition, serving under Coloney Joseph L. Bennett in whose home he lived during his first years in Texas. (Image1)
