Sep. 20" cds and matching "Due 3" oval rating handstamp to Academy N.Y., scatterted tone spots, reduced slightly at left; accompanied by non-original matching multicolor Magnus "For the Union, New York" lettersheet datelined "Camp California Feb. 19th" from soldier to his wife back home with some interesting camp content including "…trying our bayonets with the Rebels if they will only stand and not run, as near as I can learn we are going to advance on Manassas and if we do we got to conquer and not to run…" and talks of a recent 64th New York Regiment recruit in camp for about a month turning out to be a woman, Very Fine and rare Magnus design pair.
