1863/81, Laureated Issue1 d. yellow-green, 2 d. violet and 6 d. blue, tied by barred oval obliterator "268” to envelope via Brindisi to England, with matching desptach datestamp "CHILTERN MR 24 72”, on reverse Melbourne transit (26 March) and Oswestry arrival (13 may). Minor gum toning affecting a few perforations tip, the envelope with vertical archival fold well clear of the adhesives and a few short perfs as usual, still a fine and attractive pre-UPU 9 pence rate franking
1867/81, Laureated Issue 2 d. slate-grey (three singles) and 6 d. deep blue (two singles), tied by barred oval obliterator "612”, with matching "COROP OC 7 69 VICTORIA” datestamp alongside, to cover front (back separated) to USA, endorsed "via England / Overland Road”, with transit Rochester Victoria (7 Oc.), Melbourne (8 Oc.), London (29 Nov.), New York (11 Dec.). Adhesives with faults, envelope front and back opened on all sides and therefore separated with soiling and faults; despite the imperfections, a rare cover from a small township in the Goulburn Valley of Victoria

Jammu and Kashmir, with better items througout, mostly good quality
1857/1983 (ca.), large unmounted mint, unused and used collection, including Officials, noted a fair representation of Ceylon and Gold Coast, the latter commencing with the 1876 Crown CC issues, also good parts of North Borneo, Mauritius with 1857/59 Post Paid 1 d. red, two used examples showing worn and latest impression (both faulty, and both signed Bühler), Burma and Cape of Good Hope with Triangulars ranging from the 1853 Bacons printing on blue paper up to the later issues including 1 sh., Falkland Islands, etc. The collection is accompanied by a stockbook of mint never hinged issues including Ascension SG-Nr. 57-59 and Bermuda 135-150 in cpl. sets, and more. The condition slightly mixed especially in the early issues; overall an attractive assembly, neatly mounted in 2 albums and on some loose album leaves

The envelope with some marginal transportation faults, the pair in very fine condition (partly lifted for inspection of watermark). One of the greatest rarities of the British agencies in Arabia; only one further copy of this rare stamp has been recorded used at Bahrain (also on cover).
