Jasmin Auctions Sale - 148

Worldwide Online Auction - March 10, 2018

This auction consists of more than 800 lots of quality US and worldwide postal history, stamps and ephemera primarily from the holdings of a long-time collector. Much of this material has been in storage for more than 30 years and features early philatelic and ephemera lots certain to attract strong bidding. This auction contains an extensive selection of Early 1900s American Postcards. Featured lots include US #187 unused with APS certificate, an outstanding Cape of Good Hope #6, a personal letter from Quin Blackburn while on the Second Antarctic Expedition, a Martin Van Buren autograph, a letter to Thomas Gallaudet with his handwritten margin comments, large lots of fancy cancel, US#10s and #11s on cover, large postal history cover lots, excellent selection of revenue stamps, Christmas Seals, US and worldwide collections, and fantastic lots of ephemera. Historic newspapers, ancient playing cards, documents from the 1400s, and US political ephemera are just a fraction of the list. Lots are sold to the high bid at one increment over the second high bid. Bid online until 6 pm EST, Saturday, March 10.

IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ THIS NOTICE BEFORE BIDDING

We encourage you to examine the images for all lots carefully, for centering, desirable postmarks, perfins, color variations and condition. Individual stamps have descriptions. Large lots are sold as is. While most items are sound, some faulty material is to be expected. Expect mint stamps in large lots to be hinged (and smile when they are mnh). Because of the extent of the material offered, we have mounted most of the material on stock pages, but some items have been photographed in loose piles. Be sure to check large lots completely as stamps are in random order with high catalog and desirable stamps mixed in with more common material. There are treasures to be found, such as mint never hinged, unchecked issues, varieties and postmarks. Please note that most lots have very low opening bids. Jasmin Auctions retains the right to refuse to accept bids it considers not made in good faith. Stamps from some large lots have been removed from the stock pages after being photographed and will be sent to high bidders in glassine envelopes. Covers featuring fancy cancels are in mixed condition and it is the mark, rather than the condition of the cover or stamp that you are purchasing. If you have any questions regarding one or more listing, please contact us. Please also check our Terms of Sale as well for all conditions regarding this auction.
Thank you. Jasmin Auctions
