653 cover   imageHoly Roman Empire, 1647 (March 19), military-administrative entire from Count von Castell to Georg Friedrich, Count of Castell, written in formal German Kurrent script on laid paper with elaborate calligraphic flourishes, a manuscript filing note recording arrival at Rüdenhausen on March 21, two days after despatch, remarkably well preserved, with very minor wear, fresh and very fine.

Written in the final phase of the Thirty Years' War, one year before the Peace of Westphalia, the letter relays urgent troop movement orders from General Field Marshal Melander, supreme commander of the Imperial-Habsburg forces, citing "great shortage and high prices" (grosse Teuerung) and "unbelievable misery" (unbeschreiblicher Jammer) among the local population, with a 14-day deadline for action. 654 cover   imageHoly Roman Empire, 1670 (July 25), nobiliary folded lettersheet to Johann Weil von Würckburg (Würzburg), Lord of Midwicht and Tauscha, addressed with formal calligraphic flourishes manuscript filing note recording receipt on 28 July, three days after despatch, complete entire with partial red wax seal on reverse, very fine.

Written in formal German Kurrent script, the letter addresses an inheritance dispute concerning the estate of the late Görg Bauers and his widow Margarethe, specifically contesting claims linked to the Trauchburg line, with procedural instructions for summoning parties to Zeil to give testimony regarding debts and interest payments, concluding with a formal submission to the recipient's "grace and favor." 655 cover   imageHoly Roman Empire, 1698 (January 27 / February 6), dual-sovereign diplomatic entire from the High Chancery, issued jointly by Prince-Bishop Lothar Franz von Schönborn and Christian Ernst of Brandenburg-Bayreuth, boldly calligraphed outer address panel to the Counts of Castell with elaborate looping flourish, manuscript filing note recording receipt on February 2, written in sophisticated chancery Kurrent script, reverse retaining two large crisp blind-embossed paper-covered seals depicting the heraldic arms of the House of Castell, the Wheel of Mainz, and the Schönborn and Brandenburg family shields, light filing folds and minor age-toning, overall quite fresh and fine.

The contents comprise a decree summoning an Imperial Convent in Nuremberg, citing "periculum in mora" ("danger in delay"), likely in response to French expansion under Louis XIV, instructing the Counts of Castell on the necessity for decisive resolution regarding Imperial security within the Franconian Circle. The dual-date notation reflects simultaneous use of the Julian and Gregorian calendars within the Empire; the intact Wheel of Mainz and Schönborn Lion seals confirm the joint judicial and spiritual authority of the senders. 656 cover   imageHoly Roman Empire, 1744 (October 14), stampless petition from Rehweiler to the Counts and Countesses of the House of Castell, present-day Bavaria, address panel in formal Baroque script directed to Johann Friedrich, August Franz Friedrich, and Ludwig Friedrich, the ruling Counts of Castell, and the widowed Countesses Friederica and Friederica Eleonora, original structural folds, fine.

The petitioner, Georg Michael Schopf of Rehweiler, describes his family as "poor and needy" and appeals for a Stipendium (scholarship) from their charitable funds to support his youngest son, who has spent five years at the Gymnasium in Windsheim and is ready for university to pursue Studia Theologiae (Study of Theology), but lacks the means due to recent financial losses and the "misfortune of the wine harvest" — a vivid record of the absolute reliance of the lower classes on the "grace and mild assistance" of the landed nobility in the 18th-century Holy Roman Empire.
