1188 O/og   imageMint and Used Western Europe Remainder Collections, from Classics to the 1970s, in nine older albums. The countries included are Austria, Belgium, France, Hungary, Netherlands and Switzerland. The Belgium collection is housed in an older Minkus album with stamps to the mid-1960s. It starts with a fairly impressive page one. There are two collections of France; the first is in a Scott Specialty album and has a good representation of classics plus much mint from the 1920s to the 1970s. The second France collection is in an older Minkus album with stamps to about the 1960s. There is a Scott Specialty album for Central Europe with stamps from Hungary and Switzerland, Hungary especially has a strong classics offering. We saved The Netherlands for last, as it comprises five albums. These are mostly Minkus albums with stamps from classics to the late 1960s, with a degree of overlap in the material. Included is a Scott # 99 (c.v. used $50). Included also are some Dutch Colonies issues. The classics tend to be of mixed condition with the balance generally fine or better. Also included are numerous stamps in the $10 to $40 range. We estimate the main portion of the collection to be about 80% complete in period. We also noted several stamps with well-positioned cancels. Owner's total came to 1,700 stamps. Overall fine or better.
