1122 O/og/nh   imageBelgium and Colonies Mint and Used Collection in 64-page Stockbook to the 1950s for Belgium, and to the 1970s for the Belgian Congo. This lot starts with an impressive accumulation of Léopold stamps Scott 1-16 with 64 imperforate and 24 perforated stamps, unchecked by us for watermarks; many of these with clear numeral cancels, some faulty. This is followed by a somewhat disorganized collection of both regular and back-of-the-book issues, mainly semi-postals but also including officials, parcel post, postage due and occupation stamps. We noted mnh Scott 213 (c.v. $100), mint souvenir sheet B169 (c.v. $200), mnh B521-22, both with attached labels (c.v. $320) and much more. A small accumulation of B28-30 forgeries is also included. Some of the mint stamps were found to be without gum. Belgian Congo and Ruanda-Urundi issues together with early Congo Republic issues complete this offering. Very fine, except as described above. 1140 O/og/CVR   imageConsignment Remainders of Mint and Used British Commonwealth in 7 Albums, consisting of a few thousands stamps, including blocks and souvenir sheets, and roughly 150 covers. The lot begins with a New Ideal Album of British Empire, for stamps from 1840 to 1936, containing a few hundred of primarily used material, with better representation from Australia, Great Britain, and the West Indies, noting a few stamps cataloguing between $3 to $5. The lot continues with an album of many hundreds of mint never hinged Guyana and Anguilla, ranging from 1969 to 1976, and includes blocks and souvenir sheets, with a spot check indicating a few sets and sheets cataloguing from $5 to $15. The lot also has two albums containing roughly 150 covers, with the first album having primarily Canada first day covers from the 1960s, with the second album having roughly 80 covers, franked with various Omnibus stamps and sets addressed to British Guiana, ranging from 1935 to 1965 (primarily 1937 Coronation sets). The lot rounds out with three stockbooks of primarily used Commonwealth stamps, and an album of mint and used Vatican. Online scans shows a representation, noting small faults with some of the early stamps, along with mint stamps stuck down onto album pages. Overall fine to very fine.
