Thompsonville Small Queen Registered Cross Border Cover, mailed Thompsonville C.W (manuscript broken circle dated JUN.6.1874, the earliest recorded date) on registered cover to Michigan, via Cookstown and "G.W.R. / MAIN LINE / WEST" r.p.o. The

Manuscript Aultsville Folded Letter, mailed Aultsville (manuscript despatch dated APR.14.1854, the earliest reported date, and only 10 days after the post office opened) rated manuscript "3" to Cornwall (same day receiver on back). The contents
are a "Return of Convictions before Samuel Ault" listing convicts , etc. Samuel Ault was an M.P. for Stormont county from 1867 to 1872 and at the time this letter was written he was a warden there. He led an interesting life which can be followed
online on several sites. Aultsville was submerged and disappeared when the St. Lawrence seaway was built. Very fine and rare.
