We estimate the box contains roughly 1,700 stamps (a spot check indicates mostly never hinged material), along with a few blocks, booklets (roughly 60), presentation booklets (over 50), post cards, postal stationery and roughly 280 DDR issues. The lot continues with four albums (includes slip cases), of roughly 940 Ersttagsblatt First Day of Issue cards issued by the Federal Republic. We note some are cancelled with a Bonn postmark while others have a Berlin postmark. We estimate roughly 600 are duplicate cards. This is a fairly complete collection (missing high value souvenir sheets and Zeppelins), with primarily used up to 1941, with many mint hinged thereafter. Occupation stamps include mint and used: Czech Bohemia (complete except for partial first set, no Theresienstadt); Poland General Government (complete except for N54, N55, and N95a elusive in perf 14). France Alsace & Lorraine, Luxembourg, Russia, Ukraine with a few Estonia and Guernsey. Catalogue value for the collection totaled $1,462. The lot also includes Germany (Bund and Unified) 20 page stockbook of 110 souvenir sheets ranging from 1959-2001. The somewhat disorganized collection holds large quantities of stamps in one 32-page stockbook, one album made from Scott pages for Berlin and one homemade album. Apart from many interesting stamps and sets, the collection holds numerous se-tenant and tête-bêche pairs and blocks from the Germania period to the 1960s and to Berlin Scott 9N251-3. We noted used Germany set B15-8 (c.v. $121), booklet panes 539a and 544a canceled in their booklet (c.v. $230), hinged DDR souvenir sheets 144a and 146a (c.v. $240), used Danzig C31-5 (c.v. $105). The 19th century issues are represented by a large array of small and large shields, including a used Scott 22 (c.v. $2,250, unfortunately with a pinhole and 2 missing perfs). We noted used Scott 8 (c.v. $165), 13 with pen cancel (c.v. $230), 25 (c.v. $375), 28 (c.v. $425) together with 12 used copies of 36 in various shades. Then, a number of complete or partial sets of the large high value stamps of the early 20th century are strewn around. The early semi-postals are also well represented, we will only mention a few items: 5 mnh booklet panes of B26a (c.v $750), hinged B49-57 ($387), two used sets of B38-41 (c.v. $219), mnh set B59-67 (c.v. $450). Berlin, the Russian Zone and DDR are well represented to about 1961. We will only note two used copies of 9N40 (c.v. $160). Our scans only give a small glimpse of this diversified lot.
