1742 O/og/nh   imageMint and Used Collection of Worldwide Stamps, containing thousands of stamps on pages in sheet protectors, mainly up to the 1970s. Many stamp issuing countries appear to be represented, with better showings of China (including two pages of P.R.C.), Germany and States, Japan, Poland, Romania, Hungary, British Commonwealth, etc. We noted a dozen or so stamps where the owner indicated the value of stamps over $10, such as: Iran mint hinged #58 (c.v. $20); Japan mint hinged #138 (c.v. $40); British Post Madagascar used #39-40 (c.v. $20 each); New Zealand used #76 (c.v. $21); Bavaria mint never hinged #49 (c.v. $30). Pages are well organized with owner's notations (catalogue numbers and values). The lot also includes two stock books and envelopes containing hundreds more of worldwide stamps. Online scans show just a sample of this collection, and we recommend in-person viewing to better appreciate the contents. Overall, fine to very fine. 1747 O/og/nh   imageWorldwide Mostly Used Collection, in a small old-time Strand album, three stockbooks, a dozen loose quadrille pages and several glassines, including over a thousand stamps from a number of countries: Great Britain (including 17 perforated Penny Reds, many with numeral postmarks), Germany (and area), Australia (partial set of used 'Roos to the 2/' and some states), Russia (mostly Soviet Union), Canada, USA, France, Sudan (and other French Colonies), Greece, Palestine, India, Hong Kong, North Borneo, Southern Rhodesia and many more British Commonwealth countries in the George V, George VI and early Elizabeth II eras. We noted a full sheet of Germany Scott #554 (the 80pf dark blue with some separation and scuffs in the selvedge and some gum inclusions, Scott c.v. $45). 1748 og/nh   imageWorldwide Massive Dealer's Stock Featuring British Commonwealth and Selected Countries, all displayed on thousands of Vario-style sheets inserted in clear sheet holders filling 17 binders, with each stamp or set identified as per Scott number and retail asking price. This stock had been made accessible to customers in Tarifold displays in the retired dealer's shop. While some sheet holders are dusty, the Vario sheets and the stamps inside have all been well protected. The majority of the stock is mainly comprised of mint never hinged new issues ranging from the 1960s to the 1990s with occasional earlier and later items. The stocks includes many souvenir sheets, sheetlets and booklets. Some of the earlier material is mint hinged and we saw only a very few used items. Most items are priced in the range of $5 to $30 with some under $1 with only a few items over $100. There is extensive duplication of the new issues material but generally not exceeding eight copies. Among the Commonwealth countries, we noted Great Britain, Isle of Man, Jersey, Papua New Guinea, St. Vincent, Malta, Singapore, among others. Well represented European countries include Austria and the Soviet Union. The listed prices were obviously based on older catalogue values, and for some, the prices exceed current catalogue values. A diversified and clean lot that will appeal to dealers and resellers as there are loads of topicals and other useful material. We recommend in-person viewing as online scans show a represention of this lot. Very fine and fresh throughout. The Switzerland material features three used tête-bêche pairs, Scott B2a, 133a and 172a, total c.v. for these is $1,710 (no certificates). It also includes a small selection of used stamps between #s 53 and 203, two post office packages of six # 656 souvenir sheets (face value 60 Swiss Franks), about 50 commercial and first day covers, as well as a large cigar box full of recent on-paper regular and semi-postals. Also included is a group of worldwide stamps sorted in glassines and filling a large bag, about 50 covers, a small old-time collection on quadrille pages and more items too numerous to list here. 1752 nh/og/O   imageWorldwide Mint and Used Collection in 10 International Albums, to 1970. Thousands of stamps in these old Scott albums with emphasis on British Commonwealth countries. The first 4 albums cover the period to 1950 and are quite densely populated, mainly with used stamps, though not with expensive stamps. The last two albums include printed pages for 1968-1970 and lots of added blank pages for subsequent years. These albums hold many mint never hinged complete sets as well as used material. Albums 5 to 8 are less densely populated though they hold more mint stamps than the earlier albums and lots of mint and used short sets. 1753 O/og   imageLarge Worldwide Mint and Used Collection, in 48x 2-inch Uni-Safe binders and one box. This unusual collection features hundreds of full and near-full pages from dozens of different countries. Among a large number of counties with a count of over 1,000 or even 2,000 stamps, we especially noted Japan which goes to about 2013 with much mint stamps and sheetlets from 2000 on, and Russia which goes to about 1993. Otherwise, most stamps are from the period between 1920 and the early 1980 with more than 90% used. The small box holds thousands of mostly off-paper stamps that were meant to be inserted in the albums. The collection is made up of pages from a variety of albums resulting both in some duplication and in a broader than usual offering. Quality varies but is generally fine to very fine. We have 47 photos on our website for those who cannot make it in to view. (All Scans)

1755 O/og   imageCollection of Mint and Used Worldwide and United States, consisting of thousands of stamps housed in four binders and a Harris album. The first binder consists of mint and used stamps from Commonwealth countries (from A to Z) with better representation from: Australia, Bahamas, Bermuda, Gold Coast, Jamaica, Hong Kong, India. Most of the stamps are from the 1930's onward, includes owner's notation of Scott numbers and values from 2007 (we note Omnibus mint sets of Silver Jubilee and Coronation, along with a representation of earlier issues). The collection continues with two binders of used worldwide stamps from countries G-Z with good representation from: Germany, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. The three binders include owner's notation of Scott numbers and values from 2007 (mostly stamps $2 and under). The United States collection includes a Harris album of used, primarily ranging from 1920 up to the mid 1970's (the album has pages for 1847-1982). We note pre-1920 in scattered material with Scott #s: 10 (c.v. $190), 63 (c.v. $45), 68 (c.v. $80), 115 (c.v. $225), along with a second album of used stamps, primarily precancels and perfins. The collection concludes with worldwide stamps on loose manilla pages and glassines. We note some of the early United States stamps have small faults up to obviously faulty stamps. 1756 O/og   imageCollections of Worldwide Mint and Used A to Z Countries, 1920s-1970s, housed in four binders, an International Postage Stamp Album, and loose material. The three binders contain thousands of worldwide stamps (mix of mint and used on Vario black stock pages) with strength of European countries and British Commonwealth with good representation of: Bermuda, China, Czechoslovakia, France, Germany, Poland and Great Britain (we note the stamps are primarily from the 1950s to 1980s with some representation pre-1950 and post 1980). The fourth binder contains a collection of mint 1937 Coronation Omnibus series (we note 45 sets in total including Hong Kong, along with 12 other issuing countries. A quick spot check shows the stamps being mint hinged). The International Postage Stamp Album contains many hundreds of mint and used stamps up to 1935 for countries A to Z, sparsely populated for most countries (we note Persia #95, c.v. $75). We note better representation for: Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Hungary, and Italy. The loose stamps contain small bags of used United States and Great Britain, and worldwide material.
