1708 og/nh   imageDealer Stock of Mint Blocks and Red Boxes of United States, 1930-2017, consisting of three binders of quadrille pages with black mounts of mint blocks and two red boxes of primarily of mint singles and blocks. The three binders contain a few pre-1930 plate blocks but primarily range from 1932 to 2017, containing roughly 400 blocks (268 of which have plate numbers with the occasional appearance of Mr. Zip, along with owner's retail pricing). Better plate blocks include Scott #s: 555 hinged (c.v. $55), 646 hinged (c.v. $37). Face value for the binders total $227 (counting 10c on up only). The first red box consists of glassines and 102 cards of mint hinged and never hinged singles with the occasional block, organized by Scott numbers ranging from #720/2045, and includes owner's retail pricing on the 102 cards (note primarily $1 and under, with duplication up to 10 in some cases). The second red box consists of similar material ranging from #2072/5252. We note better face value and some Forever stamps (we estimate a few hundred dollars more of face value). The collection is sparse through the 19th century, then from 1925 and on from there is a high degree of completion. The material on the album pages appears to be mostly used through to the early 1990s, then a mix of mint and used through to the 42c era and then appears to be mint to 2017. The Vario pages have a mix of mint and used in singles, sets, booklets, blocks, souvenir sheets, etc., mostly from the 20c era to 2017. We note Columbian issues up to the 10c, a short set of the Trans-Mississippi Exposition issues up to the 10c, and an assortment of airmail and other back of the book material. We note the majority of stamps are from the 1930s onward, with the modern used sparsely populated. Duplication is heavy in some cases, but seemingly unpicked for postmarks, varieties, etc. We note some of the early stamps have faults, however, an overall fine lot. This high value collection is partly housed in the set of 3 albums, and the main part of the collection had not been transferred to its proper setting at the time of the collector’s passing. Hence, the very fine accumulated material sits in a variety of housings ready for transfer to the albums. We noted Yugoslavia mint Scott 87-98 (c.v. $127), never hinged 399-409 (c.v. $125), 461-68 (c.v. $107) and C43 (c.v. $175) as well as Trieste Zone B lightly hinged RAJ1 (c.v. $260) and Montenegro 69a (c.v. $325). We counted 390 souvenir sheets, 51 booklets and 38 blocks and strips of se-tenant stamps. Many items belong either to the bird or the philatelic exhibitions thematic, other nature-related subjects are also well represented. Only two souvenir sheets from Chad are present in quantities of 35 each; most other items are single copies. An ideal lot for the show dealer or the internet reseller.
