Franked with a single 1c Small Queen (perf. 11½ x 12), tied and cancelled by a fancy "M" cork (Lacelle #582). The double-sided letter inside is datelined Bishop's Court and is signed "J. 1102 CVR   image1872 Fort Garry, Manitoba 3c Small Queen Cover to Toronto, mailed with a FORT-GARRY / MANITOBA broken circle dated APR.13 to Toronto (faint APR.26 receiver), through Windsor (APR.24 transit from having travelled through the US). The cover is franked with a single 3c rose Small Queen, cancelled by a fancy star cork (Lacelle #994). Annapolis), unofficial duplex (noting two from Paradise Lane in blue and New Glasgow), coloured cancels, small towns, etc. There are also 9 registered covers, with two franked with a single 8c, a few are franked with 5c RLS, etc. Also noted are frankings, including single 1c, single 3c, single 6c, multiples of the ½c, etc., and there are a few advertising covers, mourning, many of the covers are from a correspondence to Antone Hechler in the United States and lastly we note some stamps with Halifax duplex killers, incl. 5c SQ, 5c RLS. Counties from A (Algoma) to N (Nippissing) are represented. A spot check of the post cards show c.d.s., broken circles and duplex postmarks, along with many smaller towns. All the cards are sleeved and some include pricing (ranging from $2 to $4 retail) and postmark information. 1114 CVR   imageGroup of 10 Pre-Confederation Covers To or From Prince Edward Island, with 5 stampless and 5 stamped covers, two of the stampless are inbound (one is a front only, 1857 and 1860, both with rare "1/6 Cy" handstamps and both with inspector's handstamps), one is addressed to Ireland (1845), one addressed to New York (1846) one to Nova Scotia (1858). The stamped covers include three to NB/NS with 3d blue stamps, an 1872 domestic cover with a rose 3c stamp, 1873 cover to NB with 4c green stamp. 1115 CVR 1, 6 image1866 Trans-Atlantic Cover to Scotland, mailed from Charlottetown on JUL.20.1866 to Edinburgh, Scotland (scarce and lovely strike of "EDIN b M" AUG.13 receiver on back). The cover is franked with three 2d dull rose first issues (perforated 9) plus a 3d blue 1862-65 single paying 9d. Faults described on the (pink) 2004 Greene Foundation certificate as "... {stamps} cleaned to lighten pen cancels, heavily creased along cover crease with some perforation damage", still a rare franking / destination, ex Maurice Burrus and Dr. R. 1116 CVR/PC   imageCollection of Province of Québec "Q" Datestamps, 1867 to 1910, with over 70 covers and cards, plus a few Small Queen stamps, all with datestamps (broken circles or double broken circles) with the letter "Q" at bottom, used either for despatch or receiving purposes. As expected, most are from Montréal, but we also noted scarcer ones such as Adamsville, Pearceton, Father Point, Franklin (unusual c.d.s.), Parkhurst, Franklin Centre and St Jean Baptiste de Rouville. There are many more postmarks of interest in this group, as well as early Small Queen usages (1870-1873, including 1c, 3c and 6c) as well as a few Large Queen covers and stampless. Our scans show some of the "other sides" of Q postmarks to give an idea. Mixed condition, still overall fine to very fine.
