722 CVR   imageGroup of Free Franked and Meter Franked Covers, 1892 to 1949, includes 10x 1931 to 1949 corner card advertising covers franked with various meters, including one from "Bowaters Corner Brook". Also 21 covers free franked, including many OHMS stationery covers (note purple, blue and black inks), mostly all from the St John's Post Office, but also note one from the Supreme Court / Sheriff's Office, one with oval Department of Supply, and some with "Postage Paid / G.P.O. / St John's NFLD handstamps (one of these mailed from Harbour Grace in 1920), all mailed locally, to Canada and many to United States. Also 5 others including one franked with a German stamp (passed through the mail in 1924), a 1944 censored cover to Toronto with Postage Paid / G.P.O. triangle in blue, a cover with a different triangular Postage Paid / G.P.O. / St John's N.F. handstamp and a cover mailed without stamps to Port aux Basques with three 2c Postage Due stamps tied by Channel datestamps. Also threw in a Canadian House of Commons (Alfred Gibault MPP) free-franked cover from 1913 with interesting contents explaining how he has difficulties reciting his texts at the House of Commons because of all his missing teeth. Overall fine to very fine with a few faults here and there.
