1221 O/og Great Britain imageGreat Britain Advanced Queen Victoria Collection, all hinged or in mounts on SG Windsor pages. Starts off with imperforates and goes on to the end of the QV era, missing only Penny Blacks and Blues as well as Shilling and £ values. What is included is a large variety of shades, papers, varieties, many plated stamps (including better ones), postmarks, watermarks, perforations, and more. A great collection for the specialist, as it was put together with variety in mind, a bit disorganized but many items are identified by owner and would greatly benefit from remounting. Very high catalogue value, and overall fine or better, with all pages scanned online. Have a close look at this one. 1222 O/og Great Britain imageGreat Britain Specialized Valuable Collection of Queen Victoria Surface Printed Issues, 1855 to 1900, all neatly displayed and described (by SG numbers) on quadrille pages, sorted by issue and denomination. A very clean collection containing a good number of different shades and plate numbers, and we especially note the better than usual quality of the postmarks, including many dated c.d.s. and identified numerals. Most of the collection is used, save for a few mint, including a complete set of the last issue of 1887-1900. The very high catalogue value is mostly for cheapest shades and does not include varieties only listed in Stanley Gibbons. A lovely and high quality collection, loaded with expensive and very fine stamps, well worth a close look. All 51 pages have been scanned online. Noted a presentation pack for the £1, £2 and £5 definitives along with plate blocks of four for each of these values. 1225 O/og/nh Great Britain imageGreat Britain Specialized Collection of Mint and Used King George V Issues, all neatly displayed (by SG #) and identified on quadrille pages in a SG album. The majority consists of a specialized study of the 1911-1924 small definitives (to the 1sh), with shades, inverted and sideways watermarks, different formats and dies, a few plate blocks, etc. Next comes the British Empire Exhibition issues, followed by 5 pages of the various Seahorse printings (all scanned) and we note a mint £1 1929 Postal Union Congress issue (slight toning on top perfs). A lovely collection, ideal for the specialist or a great start for continuation. Nice quality throughout and overall very fine, with many nice postmarks, as well as mint issues (including never hinged) noted. Only a small portion was scanned. 1227 O/og/nh Great Britain imageGreat Britain Mint and Used Collections, from 1860s to 1993, starting with a collection in mounts, displayed in 4 Stanley Gibbons Windsor albums. Collection has sparse representation of used from Victoria to the George V era, and then increasing completeness with mint and mint never hinged onwards, followed by a different collection in mounts, housed in a Stanley Gibbons album. We noted a mixture of mint and used with some earlier issues but mostly focusing on the QEII era. Also included are approximately 100 FDCs in 2 albums, mostly displaying full sets from 1989 to 2000. No expensive stamps seen, still a good variety and a bit of face value. Clean lot, overall very fine. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (Scan 3) (Scan 4) (Scan 5) (All Scans)

1233 Great Britain imageContributory Scheme for Old Age Pensions Book, by Sir John Pilter, published in 1910 with 110 pages, but this copy missing pages 11-14, 17-24 and 103-110. The book contains eight 5 Shilling Annuity adhesive stamps (on page 16) which are listed in Booth (1989, with a note saying they had never been seen) and unlisted in Barefoot. A rare revenue stamp, especially so used in the book they were intended for, and to our knowledge this is the first time this stamp has been offered in conjunction with proof of it's use. Also includes a 12 page pamphlet titled "Contributory Scheme for Old Age Pensions / Abridged Explanatory Pamphlet". Very fine, see pictures for an idea.
