Zeppelin Cover to the Ice Breaker “Malygin”, franked with Scott #C42, the 4 mark Polar-Fahrt overprint issue, postmarked at Friedrichshafen on July 26, 1931. Has a Polar Flight confirmation mark in red and Malygin July 27, 1931 receiver on front.
Has “First INTOURIST 1931 Expedition Ice-Breaker “Malioin” in purple stamped on the back. Small stain on lower left front and tear on backflap, still scarce. (Scan a)

From the Turkish Contingent in Crimea, franked with a strip of three of Scott #12, cancelled by grid Star and Cyphers of the British Post Office in Constantinople, Turkey. Also a red transit mark in red reading M/NR (Great Northern Railway Post
Office) and addressed to Scotland. The back shows a faint POST OFFICE / MY 3 / 1856 / A / BRITISH ARMY" postmark in red, as well as a London transit and Cioupar Angus receiver dated MAY.16.1856. The cover includes two letters written in Kertch,

From the Turkish Contingent in Crimea, franked with a strip of three of Scott #11, cancelled by two grid Star and Cyphers from Constantinople, with a red "C.R. (Caledonian Railway) free strike. The letter inside was written by a British surgeon
to his sister in Scotland on August 26th. Backstamped "POST OFFICE / AU 27 / 1855 / A / BRITISH ARMY", "TCrownD / 5SP5 / 1855" and "COUPAR ANGUS / SE 6 / 1855 / A". Very fine.

Group of Four Covers From the Turkish Contingent in Crimea, all neatly mounted and described on its page. All four covers are franked with a strip of three of the 1d red perforated, paying the proper 3d officer's rate and were written by a
British surgeon at Kertech, in the Crimea. All stamps are cancelled with Star and Cypher in grid cancels (from the British Post Office in Constantinople, Turkey), and three of the four covers have a "C.R." transit handstamp (in red or black) from the
Caledonian Railway. Various British Army and receiver postmarks from Scotland, their destination. A lovely and rarely offered group. (Scan a)
