1241 O/og/nh British Africa imageMint and Used Collection, all neatly displayed on black stock sheets in a binder, with emphasis on South Africa. The definitives sets are mainly mint and the stamps are generally very fine in quality, even the four Cape of Good Hope Triangles have nice appearances (see scan) - these have a minimum catalogue value of $1,000. We note a used £1 Natal (#109) with a catalogue value of $5,000, or $55 with revenue cancel - we have not included this stamp in the catalogue value as it is not obvious that the cancel is revenue usage (see scan). Highlights abound, including Mafeking #162 (used), Transvaal #97-103 (used), Gambia 1953 and 1963 definitive sets (hinged), KUT #103-117 (hinged), Zanzibar #201-203 (hinged, 2 sets plus extra 212-213, $300), Uganda 1965 Birds (hinged), Sierra Leone 1933 set to 1sh (hinged), Sudan #J12-15 (used), Southwest Africa C5-C6 (hinged), South Africa #O28 (hinged), etc. Suggest inspection to better appreciate the quality and scope of the stamps and extent of countries covered. Overall fresh. (Scan a) (Scan b) (Scan c) (Scan d) (Scan e) (Scan f) (All Scans)

Many definitive sets and mainly mint. The post-2000 era is mainly mint never hinged and contains many souvenir sheets and topicals, sets, etc. It should be noted that the early stamps from Barbados, British Guiana and Bahamas (#1) were not counted in the catalogue value, but if the owner's identifications are correct then the additional value would be enormous (see scans). Best countries are Antigua ($1,740), Bahamas ($1,520), Barbados ($1,450), Bermuda ($2,120), Br. Guiana ($2,476), Grenada ($1,042), Montserrat ($906), St Vincent ($942), etc. High value stamps noted include Dominica #1, Antigua 1933 Tercentenary set, Barbados #68 (used) and 140-151 (hinged), Bermuda #31-39 (hinged), #96 (hinged, with rich colour), Scroll high values, Grenada tête-bêche pairs from 1883 (hinged and used), Jamaica #88/100 (hinged), Nevis #22 (hinged), Turks #1-9 (hinged), Montserrat #75-84 (hinged), etc. Inspection is recommended in order to better see the scope and quality of this lovely collection.
