601 /o   imageRussia, 1921-51, an extensive collection in a fancy Soviet printed album, marked "Illustrated Album" on the front, with spaces for all major issues of the period, and apparently about 95% complete including souvenir sheets and airmail, the best item being the 1935 Moscow-San Francisco Flight (C68, catalog value $475). With printed annotations in Russian, with a colophon that the pages through 1950 were printed in a limited addition of 9500, to which were added the 1951 issues, all in a spring-back binder, with 32 color pages starting the various years ("printed for collectors" - in Russian). All but a handful of the stamps are used (mainly CTO), generally Fine to Very Fine, and the album itself is about Fine to Very Fine (just slightly the worse for age). An unusual item that will delight the specialist, especially if he can read Russian (or wants to learn). The comprehensiveness is extraordinary. Shipping weight 7 lbs / 3.2 kilos.
