73 TUC 3,4 imageEntire letter sent to Buenos Aires on 18/MAY/1817 with straightline marks "TUCUMAN" and "FRANCA" (GJ.TUC 3 and 4) in redish chestnut, signed by Victor Kneitschel and of very fine quality. The text of the letter is of commercial nature, with a paragraph mentioning "the withdrawl of the enemy from Salta, it is said they have plundered that city and taken some women, desecrated temples", etc. It also mentions the "siege of Jujuy...". We include a fragment with the red mark "FRANCA". (Image)
