1939 Two Airmail
Covers with Hong Kong "Air Cancels", first mailed from Italy on MAY.31.1939 (Torino Ferrova c.d.s. tie 9 stamps) to Manila, and the second mailed from Spain on AUG.10.1939 (Malaga c.d.s. tie 7 stamps) to Manila (with military censor handstamp).
Both covers have Victoria / Hong Kong transit c.d.s. on back and two small bar handstamps negating the "Air Mail" notation on the covers. Very fine and accompanied by a 1 page article on these Hong-Kong-applied handstamps. (Scan 1)
