611 CVR/O/og   imageBanker's Box of Stamp and Cover Treasures, a useful offering with a good variety of mostly Canadian and Newfoundland material (stamps and covers), plus a few worldwide items. A stack of about 55 dealer cards containing complete, or semi-complete plate block matched sets (Sc. 269-598), two binders contain about 130 cancelled cheques from 1918 to the 1930s, each with KGV or revenue stamps (incl. War Tax issues), a dozen or so mint souvenir sheets with a face value over $50, a small stack of Newfoundland booklet covers and inter-leavings, some Christmas Stick-N-Tick packs, a small box of mint Canada low values, a small box full of used Newfoundland stamps, a stack of 10 WWII ration books (gasoline, etc.), a binder of mint and Used various Canada, a dealer card with several mint Newfoundland Customs Duty stamps, a stockbook of mint and used BG (saw some mint KGV issues, etc.), a nice USA mint and used collection (1929 to 1960, with B.O.B.) and more. 612 O/og/nh 4d/1183 imageCollection of Mostly Mint Canada, 1852-1990, in two DAVO albums with slipcases and pages to 1992, then skips to 2005. Mix of mint and used up to the Edwards, mint only after that. Starts off with a used #4d (sulphuretted), a basic set of 11 Large Queens (a few are regummed or no gum, rest are used), mint Jubilees to the 50c, mostly mint Leafs, Numerals and Maps, a complete set of mint Québecs, a set of Admirals, including War Tax, coils, Provisionals, then pretty much complete from there to about 1984, with scattered issues after that, some in an envelope, ready to be mounted. Back of the book is quite strong and all mint, with complete Airmails, complete Postage Dues (to 1978), complete Special Delivery, complete O.H.M.S. and G overprints plus 2c and 5c Registration issues. The few mint items we checked revealed themselves to be a mix of hinged and never hinged, but we didn't check most, as they are mounted in split-back black mounts. We did, however note that some of the Jubilees and many of the Admirals were never hinged, and the Scroll issues mostly have old album offsets. A lovely collection, with generally good quality throughout and a huge catalogue value. See our many online photos get an idea of the value offered here. Overall fine to very fine and should easily be worth our low estimate. 613 O/og 14/400 imageCollection of Mint and Used Canada, 1859-1962, an old-time collection mounted on quadrille pages in an album. The collection starts with a #14, a 3c, 6c and 8x 15c Large Queens, followed by Small Queens to the 50c (incl. 6x 10c, 2x 20c, 5x 50c), Jubilees to the 10c, complete Leafs and Numerals, Edwards to the 20c, Québecs to the 15c, good selection of Admirals to the $1 (plus War Tax), partial Scroll set (includes a 50c Bluenose), complete 1927 sets, and so on, with several incomplete sets, but the value is mostly before the 1930s. Most of the stamps are used, including several with town cancels (mostly from British Columbia) and mint stamps start appearing in the 1930s. Also starting in the 1930s are mint and used blocks and plate blocks of four. All in all a useful collection, with some faults in the earlier material, but mostly fine to very fine. 614 O/og/nh 34/726 imageCollection / Stock of Mint and Used Canada, 1880s to 1950s, displayed on 27 Hagner stock pages, with a mix of mint and used, and quite often with one of each. Starts with a page of (mostly mint) Small Queens, followed by 4 pages of mint and used Jubilees (to the 50c), noting twelve mint 8c values and much more. This followed by Maps, Leafs and Numerals, Edwards, Admirals, and so on to the end, including back of the book placed with regular issues. One of the pages that stood out contains twenty used $1 Fisherman issue. Many of the used stamps have nice c.d.s. cancels, the mint stamps range from no gum, to hinged to never hinged, and we noted some faults (especially towards the beginning), still an overall fine to very fine offering, with a huge catalogue value. 617 nh 347/1172 imageModern Mint Collection, with Many Varieties, 1954-1985, all mounted on 37 double-sided Vario stock sheets. The main collection consists of mint never hinged regular issues, which are complemented by coils, booklets and especially printing varieties. We note many tagging varieties including untagged, bar varieties, etc., as well as many misperforated stamps, some quite drastically-so, plus some misprints, paper varieties, missing ink, etc. Some of the stamps that stood out include #536 with missing inscriptions (sold as is, would require a certificate), a good selection of Caricature issue varieties, many 17c green Parliament varieties, untagged pair of #570-71 (Unitrade $200) and many more. A useful collection that would benefit from being viewed in person, we have selected a number of pages to try and represent the flair of the collection. Should be a useful one for varieties enthusiasts, collectors wishing to add variety to their collection, or online resellers.
