5	O	4d	1852 3d Red Orange Beaver Imperforate, on Thin Crisp Paper, used with socked on the nose "STEAMBOAT LETTER / MONTREAL" cancel dated JU 23 / 1856 / 3 (our best guess for the date). The stamp has four clear to large margins, showing the next stamp at left and shows a natural pre-printing paper fold at right, fine-very fine. Small tear in margin at left (at end of fold) and at bottom of left stamp. An interesting and scarce paper variety on this stamp. Accompanied by a 2004 Greene Foundation certificate.
