The stamps generally range from 1900 to the early 2000s, containing A (Aden) to Z (Zanzibar) countries, with the strength of the collection consisting of mint and or used singles, sets, partial sets, and souvenir sheets / sheetlets. ranging from the 1930s to the early 2000s. We note better representation from Austria, Belgium, Chile, China (including People's Republic of China), Colombia, Hong Kong, Poland, Romania, just to name a few. A cursory check revealed many stamps, sets, and partial sets ranging from $5 to $20 and up, and includes the 1968 Jamaica Human Rights Year withdrawn issues (2006 Scott c.v. $160), China C42 (c.v. $2,500 if genuine), St. Kitts 82-84-88 (mh, $139 total), leaving potential finds to the dedicated collector. Postmark interest includes c.d.s and bridge type town cancels, including some socked on the nose, along with several topical and thematic subjects including butterflies, space, sports, animals, fish, and much more. The collection does not include Canada, Great Britain, Germany, or the United States. Our low estimate of a penny a stamp should appeal to collectors and dealers alike. 1173 Chalon Head imageSmall Collection of Chalon Head Forgeries, Etc. first page includes a genuine 1870 Prince Edward Island # 10 (Scott U$90 but no gum and pulled perf.) plus three crude forgeries of this stamp apparently produced by Samuel Allen Taylor. The second page shows the GB 1864 advertising label for Stafford Smith and Smith in Bath, with three in black and four in red. The third page shows a genuine set of three Turks & Caicos Islands issue depicting the Chalon Head, and the last two pages show Smilers stamps depicting the Chalon Head / Penny Black, in two different formats (sheet of 10 and sheet of 20 1st Class stamps = £49).
