The stamp is tied to the document by an "L" punch. These were printed in panes of 50, but very few stamps are known with the double silver bars, and even fewer are known on document. 342 O YL13b image25c Over 10c Surcharge with Double Silver Bars Used on Document, an undated Small Debt Dispute Note issued at the Territorial Court of the Yukon Territory franked with a 25c over 10c surcharge, with an strikingly visible double strike of the silver bar (one at upper right and one at lower left). The stamp is tied to the document by an "L" punch. These were printed in panes of 50, but very few stamps are known with the double silver bars, and even fewer are known on document. 353 O YL1-YL12 imageCollection of Yukon Law Stamps with Various Punched "CANCELLED" Cancels, on 7 exhibit pages plus a stock page. The two first pages show the vermilion Mining Court issues including a complete set plus two pairs and an apparently unique block of 8 of the 10c (the latter described as the largest known used multiple). Catalogue value up to here is $4,625. The other pages show Territorial Court issues (singles, a pair and two blocks of 8) with various types of CANCELLED punch cancels, including the mis-spelled "CANCELED" 5-hole cancels, as well as the larger 6-hole cancels with a block of 8 described as "the only reported usage of the intact C", and the rest showing the missing pins on the first "C". last but not least is a group of ten 10c values punch cancelled through a small piece, described by the owner as "the largest number of YL7 reported on single document". The stock page shows 11 various punched singles plus an unpunched strip of three. Overall fine to very fine, with some scarce to rare items. 359   imageCorrespondence of Percy Reid, Yukon Gold Commissioner, with 10 letters dated 1906, 1907 (x2), 1908 (x2), 1909, 1910 (x2) and 1912 (x2), all pertaining to gold and silver claims, etc. According to Wikipedia, Percy Reid (1874-1927) was "gold commissioner of Yukon, Canada, between 1925 and 1927, born in Prince Edward Island, Reid moved to the Yukon in 1898, attracted by the prospects of the Klondike Gold Rush. In 1899, he began working for the local government as a mining recorder. He remained in this position for several years, before moving to the Immigration Department." Overall fine. 360 YL2/YL6 imageRare Offering of Ten Early Documents Franked with Dawson Mining Court Stamps, dated between Jan. 21, 1903 and Aug. 8, 1905, the frankings consist of 25c single (x6), $1 single, $2.25 (two $1 and one 25c) and a $3 single, which are all "tied" by 5-hole CANCELLED punch cancels. The documents consist of affidavits, a few court exhibits, a notice of appointment, a few judgements, etc. A rare offering, van Dam states that "documents extremely rare, especially values other than 25c.".
