1026   imageTreasure City, Nevada Postmarking Instruments, a rare offering of 5 original instruments, including a "TREASURE CITY / NEV" 32mm c.d.s. instrument carved in hardwood, also some instructional marking instruments, with "DUE", "MISDIRECTED", "UNPAID" and "CORRECT". Treasure City started as an encampment in 1867 and quickly grew as a silver mining town, up until the 1880s when it was abandoned. Its post office opened in June 1869.
