We note useful postmarks such as a Montréal duplex (SEP.19.1868), a socked on the nose 4-ring #52 (Clifton) on a very fine centered #22b, a fancy geometric cork on a pair of #23, and a watermarked 1c brown red stamp showing two complete letters of the watermark. A useful page for the specialist, overall fine.

44 O 22, 23 var imageCollection of 1c Large Queen Plate Varieties, neatly written-up on 10 pages, including 21 stamps with constant plate varieties, plus 4 more with constancy unproven. The varieties are all clearly identified with the aid of blow-up scans and we note burr to left of head (22iii), two dots in N, temple flaw, grave accent in C, apostrophe in C, central scratch in lower margin, bottom margin scratch, spur in lower margin, ink flaws in left margin, etc. There is a good showing of shades, plus some useful postmarks, including a lovely piece with a 2c LQ cancelled double ring "H & A.R. / N.S / East / SP.3.1870" (first day of use), 2 ring numerals, a nice 4-ring #20 (Melbourne), etc. All pages scanned online, overall fine to very fine and a wonderful lot for the specialist.
