LotNo. Symbol Cat No. Lot Description
311 O/og/nh   imageLarge Mint and Used Group of Eastern Europe, from Classics to the 1990s, with collections and accumulations on older album pages, in stockbooks, on Vario and other stock pages and in glassines / envelopes, etc. This lot fills two wine boxes. There is a fairly high proportion of mint never hinged stamps, including part sheets of early Poland, such as Scott # O1-O11 (x90 c.v. $1,260 total), more than 70 souvenir sheets and miniature panes from 1970s to the 2000s Hungary alone, plus well over 1,000 mint stamps from 1990s Ukraine in sheets and part sheet, with many of these commemoratives. There are also collections of Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Romania on pages. We noted numerous Baltic stamps, with some from the inter-war years, including 10 bundles of used stamps from Lithuania. The group has many thousands of stamps in all plus hundreds of souvenir sheets & miniature panes and has excellent variety. Some of the material is already priced for sale, with many, many sets and singles in the $2 to $10 range of catalogue value. Overall fine to very fine, our photos only show an overhead view of this massive lot. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (All Images)

Falkland Islands
LotNo. Symbol Cat No. Lot Description
312 og/nh 3/120 imageCollection of Mint Falkland Islands, 1878-1952, displayed on 15 DAVO hingeless pages. This collection has been identified by the owner with Stanley Gibbons numbers and not only includes regular sets and part sets, but also many shade, perforation and watermark varieties. Owner paid £350 for S.G. 126 because of its "above average perfs and centering". Many to most have an equivalent Scott listing, but some do not and those were counted as the closest equivalent. A nice quality collection, with a mix of hinged and never hinged and mostly fine to very fine. All pages scanned. 319 nh   imageImpressive Collection of Mint Never Hinged Falkland Islands in Three Stanley Gibbons (DAVO) Hingeless Albums, 1952 to 2008, virtually complete in period for regular issues, souvenir sheets, airmails and postage dues, but also notable for the multiple additional varieties. For instance, we counted 740 different gutter pairs (majority of the issues in period) starting with the valuable 1969 SG 250-53 (Heijtz specialized catalogue £250), 258-62 (Heijtz £200), 296, 297, 299 (Heijtz £150), and so many more (all conservatively catalogued by Scott for two stamps only). Amongst the many varieties, we note SG#s 210w (wmk inv, £140), 225w (wmk inv. £100), MS306w (inv. wmk. Heijtz £200), 316w (wmk. inv. Heijtz £75), 333w gutter pair (wmk sideways to the right, Heijtz £800), 385w (wmk sideways to the left, Heijtz £300), 393w (wmk sideways to the right, Heijtz £200), 394w (wmk sideways to the right, Heijtz £100), 430w gutter pair (wmk sideways to the right, Heijtz £120), 530w (wmk sideways to the right, Heijtz £150), etc. We did a large sampling with resulted in all checked stamps never hinged. A fresh and clean collection, conservatively catalogued as all regular stamps in Scott, so actual value much higher. See photos for a small sampling.
