The adhesives tied by “A25” duplex and believed to have originated at the French P.O. in Beyrout, subsequently cancelled in Malta as a missorted, missent article. Showing rare “PACKET LETTER NOT ORIGINATING/IN MALTA. FORWARDED/CHARGED WITH POSTAGE” mark, this the earliest example recorded, over Torquay arrival c.d.s., with red “MORE/TO/PAY” in circle, manuscript “6”(d) arrival charge and receiver’s note “Thursday morning/August 1st/61”.
