Written by John Kerr on board “H.M.S Bonne Citoyenne off Malta”, “...our late success on 18 Feby in capturing Le Genereuex 74 (French gun ship from Toulon en route to the French Garrison at Malta) which our little squadron consisting of Foudroyant (Admiral Nelson), Northumberland, Alexander & this ship had the good fortune to fall in with on the Sicilian Shore....I have wrote Mr Cook to receive my share (prize money) when due, which I believe will be pretty considerable as she is supposed to be valuable”.
