Wollheim & Co., Alexandria to Florence, initially franked by Great Britain 6d. lilac uncancelled as mailed from Italian Post Office, subsequently handed to ship’s captain with 1863 60c. (2, one damaged at foot) tied by Ambulante Livorno-Firenze No. 2 “6/NOV/64” c.d.s’s, backstamped Ancona Nov. 5, fine Ambul. Fir.-Livorno No. 1 Nov. 6 and red Firenze arrival. The franking was not accepted as, for a “lettera di te porti”, 1l.80 in Italian stamps was expected, consequently boxed “FRANCOBOLLO/INSUFFICIENTE” mark applied with handstruck “8” The letter advises that “Par Bateau Autrichien vous recevrez une lettre particulière de Mr. G.
