Surcharge shows small full stop and as yet uncategorised, possibly a late use of type 1, with Sorani certificate (1984); 1/2d. on lower half of 1d. red-brown, per favour, small part original gum, some perf. irregularities. Surcharge from Harding class 1, type 6 in new listing; 1/2d. on lower half of 1d. brownish claret, by favour, tied to piece by contemporary steel oval “F.I.”, some oxidisation but the smaller stamp height characteristic of the sideways watermark, this being genuine surcharge no. 1.
