These letter sheets which pre-dated the Mulready stationery issued in May 1840 were sold at 1s.3d. per dozen or 2d. each and were for local use. This early example of the first use of pre-stamped postal stationery, is one of very few known on vertically laid paper (149 x 310mm) watermarked “EHC/1838” and is in fine condition.
