Australia: Lake Lefroy Cycle Mail 1897 6d. red on green, used with red ink initials “H M”, a few small imperfections nevertheless a very fine example of this rare stamp. Lithographed at the “Coolgardie Miner & Pioneer” Printing Office, Lake Lefroy, and in use for about three months in early 1897 to carry mail by cycle to and from the new gold rush area of Lake Lefroy and Coolgardie. The initials represent the owners of the service, H. Lacy-Hillier and Frederic. E. Maskell....
