Lot 902 - PLATE 7 STRIP OF SIX USED ON COVER IN LONDON WITH EXPERIMENTAL MXs: 5 Aug. 1840 EL (minor faults & refolded to reduce size) posted to City of London with red Tottenham cds on 'reverse' and franked 1840 1d plate 7 strip of six FG-FL tied by black MX experimental cancellations. Close to good margins, FJ cut into top, FK with ironed out crease & slightly repainted along crease. A very scarce multiple on cover, used in the first week of experimental cancellation, and the earliest and largest strip with this cancel recorded. Attest Cert. (2006).
