Lot 2179 - FAIRY QUEEN & "LORD OF THE ISLES" (PURPLE OR BLACK) HAND-PICKED 'GARTER' MARKS, ETC.; 1904/07 trio of fine PPCs each with KEVII ½d tied by a fine Greenock cds, but each also with a very fine to superb strikes of the steamer's 'gartered' cachets; 1904 with lovely strike of the large purple circular "POSTED ON BOARD S.S. FAIRY QUEEN/LOCK ECK/ARGYLLSHIRE", and 1904/7 with exceptionally clear oval "R.M.S. LORD OF THE ISLES" oval ds in purple or black respectively. Plus a 1906 PPC of the ship & map of the lochs.
