CURACAO - BRITISH OCCUPATION PERIOD - RARE "CURACOA" FLEURON D.S. [EKD] ON COVER TO LONDON "P. SHIP EURYDICE"; 28 Mar. 1811 E (hinges and selvedge neatly reinforce top flap) from "Curracoa" (filing note) to Rothschilds in London "P. Ship Eurydice" charged "4/-" (double Packet rate of 1s-1d + inland 11d ex Falmouth) with a very fine strike of the very rare British Occupation "CURACOA" fleuron d.s. ("2 MY 2/1811"; the consistent error of spelling - known 1811-15 only) nicely placed on the front, also having a red 12 June London arrival cds on the flap. Of Exhibition Quality and believed to be the Earliest example of this rare fleuron to have been recorded.Cross Reference: NETHERLANDS COLONIES....
