COMMERCIAL. RARE USED "Post Magazine" LETTER-SHEET WITH 4m 1d BLACK SENT LOCALLY IN LONDON; Very fine 22 Aug. 1840 usage of a Post Magazine (unnumbered no.5? - with one of the 3 extra inner pages) with Plate 1b 4m 1d Black (OF) tied by a very fine orange-red London Maltese Cross (matching ds on top flap) with partly fine black "T.P/Whitechapel" alongside. There is a light horizontal fold across the address, but otherwise in unusually fine condition. The multiple adverts on the second half of the double-width sheet include a Life Insurance Co. advert which has seemingly been ink-boxed by the sender, a Mr. "Thos. D. Glascott", who invites the addressee to dinner at 5pm the next Wednesday. [RPSL Cert. (2007) which states that "the stamp has been lifted and re-affixed and the obliteration improved at the top [but] is Genuine"]. Exhibition Item.
