A Conservative and ally of Sir John A. MacDonald (who represented Kingston, and was later Canada's first Prime Minister), Stevenson was elected in 1848 to represent Picton in the Third Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada. An exceptionally striking and important example of this famous flaw. Our research suggests that this is the largest known multiple, next to a block of nine, ex-Colonel Green, which is illustrated in Ashbrook.
