the 1852 Issue, but there is also useful representation of the 1867 ImpItaly - Roman States substantial specialized collection housed in two albums and a stockbook, comprising about 800 stamps and 130 covers, much of the value and emphasis is on the 1852 Issue, but there is also useful representation of the 1867 Imperforate and 1868 Perforated issues, the stamps are mostly used and contain a wide variety of shades and cancels, also some multiples, some scarce mint/unused stamps including the 50b value, an outstanding group of covers, with much cancel interest, including scarce straight line and c.d.s. postmarks, fancy ornamental markings, unusual auxiliary postmarks, etc., plus several bisect usages (including a front with the 4b), many of the better covers were purchased by the collector but never mounted (see photo page for a sampling of these), a large number are signed by the Italian experts and thirteen certificates (mostly Diena) accompany, while the condition is mixed as always on a collection this size, the overall quality is quite nice, particularly among the better stamps and covers, with many fine-very fine items present; if you were ever thinking of starting a serious collection of Papal States, this would be the perfect basis on which to form such a collection. 1618 ogO   Worldwide comprehensive collection offered intact as received to 1940 housed in twelve Scott Vintage Reproduction of the International series, included are over 50,000 different stamps from all areas of the world, though Europe and British Commonwealth seem the strongest, there is also United States (including Columbians to the $1.00 and a used Graf Zeppelin set), throughout there are loads of medium priced mint and used sets and singles, while there is nothing that would be considered a rarity, there are several key stamps present, such as Austria 10S Dollfuss, Canada Jubilees complete, France 1917 5Fr+5Fr semi-postal, Germany IPOSTA and Nothilfe souvenir sheets, Liechtenstein Vaduz souvenir sheet and more, condition is a little mixed as one would expect on a collection this size, however nearly all have fine-very fine appearance; there are very few of these "old school' worldwide collections containing this many stamps in the classic collecting period that make there way to the auction block anymore. 1619 ogO   Worldwide exciting and voluminous collection of many tens of thousands of all different mint and used singles and sets assembled by an avid stamp collector in twelve incredibly well filled Scott International albums, the first five volumes are issues to 1940, the next three volumes are issues from 1940-49 and the remaining four volumes are issues from 1950 to 1961, with nothing thereafter, the pages are printed on both sides, however there is interleaving throughout, and extra blank pages have been inserted to accommodate stamps for which no spaces have been provided, which is where the better stamps and high values tend to be found, all the world is well represented including nice China and Japan, just to give an inkling of the scope of the collection, we found stamps in the first five volumes which catalog up to several thousand dollars and in the later volumes we noted British Commonwealth Silver Wedding and Silver Jubilee complete, Germany with mint Posthorns, Italy with #Q76, just to mention a couple, viewing is an endeavor for which plenty of time should be allowed, because the more you look the more you will find.
