Kolozsvári Grandpierre Emil (1907-1992) magyar író, műfordító és kritikus. Francia eredetű erdélyi családban született, Pécsett diplomázott, majd 24 éves korában, 1931-ben jelent meg első regénye "A rosta" címmel. Dolgozott többek közt a Statisztikai Hivatalban, az Iparművészeti Iskolában, valamint a Magyar Rádió dramaturgiai osztályán. 1941-től 3 éven keresztül a Franklin Társulat Kiadóvállalatának lektora volt. A második világháború után szovjet hadifogságból visszatérve a Magyar Rádió Irodalmi Osztályának vezetője, majd helyettes műsorigazgatója lett 1949-ig. 1950-1951 között a Hungária, illetve a Szépirodalmi Könyvkiadó lektoraként dolgozott. 1956 után kezdődött érett írói korszaka, sorra jelentek meg esszékötetei: az Utazás a valóság körül, az Eretnek esszék és A beton virágai. Kétszer nyerte el a Baumgarten-díjat (1941, 1944) és a József Attila-díjat (1964, 1975), valamint 1980-ban Kossuth-díjat kapott. Életműve a Magvető Könyvkiadónál jelent meg. Néhány műve a teljesség igénye nélkül: A rosta (1931), A tőzsdelovag - Vígjáték Balzac nyomán (1947), Nem vagy egyedül (1951), A bűvös kaptafa (1957), A boldogtalanság művészete (1958), Utazás a valóság körül (1969). T:UNC / Hungary 1977. "Hungarian Order of Labour - Gold Grade" gold plated, enamelled and synthetic resined bronze decoration on ribbon, with miniature on thin ribbon, in original ("sticky") case, with bearer card and donation document for Emil Kolozsvári Grandpierre. Emil Kolozsvári Grandpierre (1907-1992) was a Hungarian writer, literary translator and critic. He was born in a Transylvanian family with French origin, graduated in Pécs, and published his first novel in 1931 at the age of 24, entitled "A rosta". He worked, among others, at the Statistical Office, the School of Applied Arts, and the dramaturgy department of the Hungarian Radio. For 3 years from 1941, he was a proofreader for the Publishing Company of the "Franklin Társulat". Returning from Soviet captivity after the World War II, he became the head of the "Magyar Rádió's" Literary Department and then its deputy program director until 1949. Between 1950 and 1951, he worked as a reviewer for "Hungária and Szépirodalmi Könyvkiadó". His mature writing period began after 1956, and his volumes of essays were published one after the other. He won twice the Baumgarten Prize (1941, 1944) and the József Attila Prize (1964, 1975), and in 1980 he received the Kossuth Prize. His autobiography was published by Magvető. László Grétsy (1932-2024) was a Hungarian linguist, college teacher, television personality, prominent figure in language education.
