240250   image1926 King Fouad's Birthday Issue Five essays were produced by Harrison & Sons depicting a three-quarter length photograph of the King in military regalia, each surrounded by a different elaborate floral frame, and mounted on separate cards endorsed "A" to "E", 90x144mm. A letter exists, dated 20th January 1926, from the Minister of Finance to the Chief of the Royal Cabinet, submitting the essays for the King’s approval. These essays were rejected in favour of a simpler design by Verruchi Bey, the Palace Architect. 242653 Mi. 3II, 6, 7 image1862, 1 Kr rose from the rare plate 2 (showing sharp corners), two singles together with 12 Kr red and 18 Kr yellow, tied by ”28” numeral and AUGSBURG 12 SEP 1862 cds alongside on entire letter to Amsterdam, Netherlands. The stamps shows some smaller faults. The 32 Kreuzer franking paid the double rate to the Netherlands. It is unique and represents one of the most important usages of the rare 1 Kreuzer rose, plate 2; certificate Stegmüller BPP (2021): ”In Verbindung mit der 1 Kreuzer (Platte 2) handelt es sich um eine äusserst seltene Dreifarbenfrankatur. 242654 Mi. 23 X image1870 Coat of Arms issue perforated 3 kreuzer rose, fresh colours and well perforated with neatly placed violet-blue single-circle postmark "MÜNCHEN 23 JUL" (1873) on complete telegram with text from Lübeck to Munich and forwarded to Neuötting with transit and arrival postmarks on the back. Slightly stained, especially in the perforation area and that inconspicuous bend mark. Telegrams franked with the coat of arms issue are many times rarer than those with the square issue, only five are recorded. As a franked telegram with complete contents it is unique. Eine der ganz grossen Stempelraritäten auf Waadt 5, laut Schäfer sind nur 3 Briefe bekannt. Ein schöner Brief dieser Seltenheit. Attest Rellstab 1996. Anmerkung: Diese Entwertung war nicht für Marken vorgesehen, sondern nur als Aufgabenebenstempel. Wahrscheinlich hat der Postbeamte vergessen, die Marke bei der Abgabe der Briefes zu entwerten. Später hat ein anderer Postbeamte, der den Aufgabestempel anbringen sollte, diesen Fehler bemerkt und korrigiert, indem er den Aufgabestempel ebenfalls auf die Marke aufgeschlagen hat.
