1840 "V R" Official, AA-AB corner pair from the upper right of the sheet, showing the plate letter "A" and the marginal inscription, with close to large margins on other sides, AA with part and AB with full original gum; vertical crease
between impressions. The reverse bears an ink inscription in the margin which reads, "W.E. image to ..." and is dated "March 30 1882" and is signed in pencil "Denny Marshall". A superb exhibition show piece with the only other issued plate letter
piece being the strip in the Tomasini collection recently sold by DFSA.
