Collection: Zeppelin LZ 127, collection with over 460 covers, including several rarities in 3 large volumes with over 150 pages, with memorabilia, ephemera and covers from 1928-1934, beautifully mounted and decorated, containing numerous
photos from LZ 1, autograph cards, original parts of the Zeppelin, a mail-dropping chisel and a letter from Count Zeppelin with his signature.
The first volume contains 100 covers with a wealth of top items that would be a great highlight in most collections, incl. Liechtenstein supply to the 1st America trip with destination Canada (probably a unique item, the collector paid €5500 for it)
plus 2 further supplies to this trip, each catalogued at €8000, Czechoslovakia forwarded to Lakehurst (not listed in Michel and Sieger - a very great rarity!), USA 1928 card bearing the signature of Hubert Wilkins, Liechtenstein-Lakehurst forwarded
(Michel €10'000), Oriental Flight with forwarding to Syria and postage due (probably unique), Sieger 23j on-board cover, Sieger 26 a,b,c, delivery of Cuers and both drops from the failed 1st North American trip, then the 1st trip carried out is
wonderfully documented, including both drops, World tour with Königsberg drop, Sieger 30 Ac feeder Danzig (a rarity), rare Porrentruy drop on the America trip, 2nd Switzerland trip drop Interlaken, then a wealth of often rare drops, Liechtenstein
Spain flight feeder, Landing trip Dübendorf with 4 covers from Liechtenstein, 1xMiF and 4 documents from the return trip, another rarity is the cover with stamps from Liechtenstein and Danzig on the Switzerland trip.
Volume 2 contains 176 covers, here also a large number of expensive stamp issues from the South America trip. Again a sensational part of supplies from Liechtenstein, including a wide range for the South America trips such as a round trip letter to
Cameroon, Liechtenstein feeder for flight 2.7. as well as 3 top covers from Switzerland trip/Vaduz and much more.
Volume 3 with 186 covers, including many good return trips and another fantastic part of supplies from Liechtenstein and a good part of stage flights. A highlight Liechtenstein mini sheet #1 in the original format with the special cancel on a
Zeppelin letter (a very great rarity), followed by another drop bag and a letter from Count von Zeppelin with signature and business card!
An exceptional collection in every respect, which could have been described in much more detail, but the few examples and the pictures speak for themselves.
Of the more than 460 Zeppelin covers, most of the pieces have a three-digit trading value, some even a four-digit value, but offered intact in order to preserve this work of art and offer the connoisseur an ideal introduction to this wonderful
collecting area. (Image 1)

Collection: 1928-39 An exceptional and highly specialised collection of Zeppelin flights, neatly mounted and meticulously written up across more than 360 album pages, housed in five large ring binders. This impressive assembly
demonstrates particular strength in the 1928–1932 period, with a remarkable showing of Deutsche Luftschiff Zeppelin Flight No. 127, comprising over 270 documented flights. Included are many of the scarcer and most sought-after voyages, such as the
Chicago Flight, the Polar Flight, the Arctic Flight, the America Flight, the Orient Flight, and the World Circuit Flight.
The collection boasts extensive worldwide coverage, with frankings from an outstanding range of countries including Argentina, Austria, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Danzig, Egypt, Great Britain, Greece (and Greek Islands), Hungary, Iceland, Italy,
Netherlands, Paraguay, Russia, Saar, Spain, Switzerland, and Uruguay, among others.
In addition, strong representation is given to Deutsche Luftschiff Zeppelin Flights No. 129 and 130, with 68 and 26 flights respectively recorded. Complementing the flown covers are a variety of related items such as stamps, postcards, and Zeppelin
memorabilia, enhancing both the philatelic and historical value of the holding.
This is truly a wonderful and comprehensive assembly, combining depth, rarity, and breadth of coverage. It offers enormous potential for further study and research and serves as an excellent foundation for expansion. A collection of this calibre and
scope is seldom offered and will appeal greatly to the serious Zeppelin or airmail enthusiast. (Image 1)
