1793 (29.9) Folded letter sheet from Armagh to Dublin and redirected to Carlow, franked with manuscript Free John Richardson/Armagh September thirtieth, and showing a straight line ARMAGH and an unframed WRONG DATE both in red, alongside
manuscript wrong date 29 Sept. followed by an Inspector's GR/CROWN, the free delivery was disallowed and rated "4" but subsequently was also disallowed with additional inspectors' CROWN and redirected to Carlow and recharged "8", an important postal
history item for the connoisseur

1797 (24.2) Folded entire from Philadelphia via Killybegs, Donegal to Edinburgh, on arrival from it's transatlantic journey the letter landed at the small fishing port of Killybegs where it was struck by the extremely rare two line
KILLYBEGS/SHIP - LETTER in black, rated "1/1" paying 1d incoming ship letter rate, Killybegs to Dublin 4d being assessed under the old rate and should have increased to 8d on March the 25th 1797, and finally the Dublin to London route of 8d brought
the total to "1/1", However, in London, it was discovered that the letter was double, the inland portion to London doubled, but correctly not the ship letter rate, making "2/1" finally rated "3/5", caluatimng the total London to Edinburgh as "1/4"
and "2/1", an important showpiece
This is one of only two usages of the Killybegs Ship Letter handstamp yet recorded(Image 1)

crisp tiny TOO LATE in black, very fine and a rare usage
Note: Crossroads were those on which the post was carried between the main roads, and therefore the letter did not have to travel to Dublin and back to its destination, resulting in a cost reduction(Image 1)

1817 (11.12) Printed Form No.7/Missent Re-directed Letters forwarded per Cross Post showing an ATHBOY/31 mileage, posted from Athboy and addressed to the Postmaster of Trim on December 11th enclosing a letter addressed to John Pottinton
Esq. of Athboy and rated "11". The form was received at Trim by John Atkins D.P.M. on December 12th who then turned the Form with TRIM 25 and sent it to sup(erintenda)t. by Dead letter office, Dublin. The contents of the form which was partly printed
list a letter from Drogheda to Trim that vwas redirected to Athboy

1826 (13.10) Folded letter sheet from Llankelly to Newry, rated "Pd1/6", the letter was then refused by the recipient and a REFUSED handstamp in red was applied, redirected and charged the original fee of "1/6" deleted and recharged
"2/-", very fine and the unique example in red
Note: The Post Office notice of December 1792 gave authority to charge the sender for two separate journeys if on delivery to the original address, the recipient refused to pay and the letter was redirected(Image 1)
