70433 ,   image1840s and 1850s, group of twenty letters, incoming (from India) and outgoing, many stamped by oval "packet letter Mauritius" and Madras GPO, with a good range of endorsements and routings. Also good ship letters on 8 exhibition pages with thorough analysis, many with Mauritius GPO crown handstamp. A great lot with much to study, and with interesting documentation, such as duplicate letters and different rates, most of material stemming from the Pipon Bell & Co. correspondence. Generally good condition but with the usual archival folds and ink corrosion so typical of the epoch.(Image 1) (Image 2) (Image 3)
