201 COLL image1913//19 Collection of 3 stampless covers and 3 ppcs, 2 of the covers with Prisoner of War hs, the first to Sweden cancelled Talcahuano, Chile, 16 ABR 19 with censor label 4704 at left and signed by the paymaster of the S.M.S. Dresden, the only German ship that wasn’t destroyed in the battle of the Falklands; the second stampless cover from Chile bs S.M.S. Dresden to Kiel with Geneva ds of 22.11.1919 on face. Photocopy of the Dresden accompanies. Also, cover from Kiauchau, China cancelled Tsingtou 15.12.13 to Wurtemberg from the S.M.S. Gneisenau which was sunk in the battle. The first ppc depicts shipwrecked sailor waving German flag at oncoming vessels cancelled Kais Deutsche Marine Schiffspost 8 APR 1917, the second an unused ppc of the S.M.A.S. Australia which was also in the battle. Also includes a US ppc Passed as Censored AEF 1649. An interesting group. (Image)
