1854 1a RED - DIE I - "A" STONE - SUBSTITUTED TRANSFER: A used block of eight (4x2) with watermark of positions [5-8/13-16] but with
the plating characteristics of positions [53-56/61-64]. Position [8/56] & [13-15/61-63] show prominent inking flaws especially in the left arches. Position [13/61] shows retouch to the bottom frameline. Note: there is only one other recorded block of
eight from the substituted transfer [Studd lot 155] and exceeded in size only by the Studd block of twelve [Harmer 27-9-76 lot 164].
