1098   image1943 'TRIANGULAR' COVERS: Locally used Norman Hopper FDC cancelled Wanganui, Jones H43.1J and a Harry Blyth Chatham Islands cover H43.1K cancelled Waitangi 3 Dec. 1943 when the stamps arrived on the Island. It is most unlikely that any covers were cancelled on FDI as stamps had not arrived by that time. Rated 5 and 8 respectively, the Blyth cover with foxing spots. (2 covers) (Image)

1099   image1944 PRINCESSES ISSUE IN 'PATCHED' BLOCK: Block of 16 of the 2d + 1d value. The Plate block of 4 has been removed and then a replacement block patched in. The NZ PO was obsessed with exactly counting their stamps and this was probably done to issue a partially damaged sheet for Post Office use. (16 stamps) (Image)
