542   image1867 ENVELOPE TO SCOTLAND: 30 May 1867 env. from Kingston C.W. to Linlithgow bearing a single perf. 12 1859 Chalon 12½c green tied by a clear circle of horizontal bars cancellation. With a good "GLASGOW PACKET/PAID" ds nearby. With ms "Per N.S./1st June" at lower left. Note: despite being marked "per N.S. 1st june" this cover was carried on the Allan Line "Peruvian" which sailed from Quebec on 1st June 1867. It arrived at Liverpool on 14th June 1867 having previously made a brief mail drop in Londonderry after 13 days. (Image)

(flap faults & creases) addressed to UK with a faint "CARIBOU CROSSING/[??]8/04" cds (possibly March 28 - as a similar lot sold in our Sep. 2025 lot 480 for £280 to the same recipient) prior to the town being renamed "Carcross". The town was only named "Caribou Crossing" for c.5 years. Backstamped with mainly unreadable Alaska transit cds (possibly Skagway), and fine Cambridge receiving thimble cds. (Image)

549   image1853-64 COMPREHENSIVE 'CAPE TRIANGULARS' USED COLLECTION on leaves identified by issue comprising 1853 on slightly blued paper 1d red (3) all different shades from brick red to brown red one with large part of adjoining stamp at base all with full margins, 1855 1d all three listed shades, 4d both listed shades, 6d three listed shades & 1/- both listed shades all with full margins with one 1/- value close at base, 1861 'Woodblock' 1d vermilion with two close margins and small surface fault, 1d brick red two close margins & 4d pale milky blue with RPSL cert. (1978) stating genuine 'used' (looks unused) with thin and full margins one very close at left, 1863-64 1d brown red (2), 4d steel blue with RPSL cert. (1990) stating 'too toned and colour affected to be classified as this shade' although looks fine & fresh, 6d & 1/- all fine full margin examples.
