Inland Postage Issue 1910/12: Commerce with Caduceus 3 c. on 10 c. ultramarine & black surcharge in red “3 CENTS INLAND POSTAGE” and "OS", imperforate block of twenty of, showing dramatic "Double Overprint" with one
setting applied at a 90-degree angle, forming a spectacular and highly visual production error multiple; large sheet-format survival with full imperforate margins throughout, fresh colours and remarkable positional integrity. A major exhibition and
research piece of Liberian philately, illustrating a striking error in the surcharge application process on one of Liberia’s most distinctive triangular issues. The combination of imperforate status, sheet-size format, and rotated double overprint
places this among the most important surviving production varieties of the issue. Apparently unique in this format, and very likely the only surviving sheet or large multiple exhibiting the error. An exceptional showpiece with considerable visual
impact (Image 1)

1880/92: A specialised and appealing postal history study comprising six covers, with additional stamp study material, centred on the numeral issues and compatriot issue of this period. The group is strong in
registered mail, mixed-issue frankings, and scarce low-value usages, with multiple examples illustrating the well documented shortages of small denominations during the late 1880s to early 1890s. A number of covers show rare multi-issue frankings
combining the 1880 Liberty types (1 c., 2 c. & 6 c.) with the 1885 numerical issues and one in combination with the 1881 Arms 3 c. black. A particularly important registered cover from Bassa to Munich dated 1889 bears a combination including an
1867 issue and is recorded as one of only three known examples. The group also includes additional registered covers exhibiting unusual or underpaid rates, including examples marked “POSTAGE PAID” indicating partial cash payment. Also, a rare multi
issue franking of the low value 1880 and 1885 with two 1 c. and a 2 c . Liberty combined with two Numeral (1 c. & a 2 c.). Use of the One cent values from these two issues is very scarce. Accompanying the covers is a useful reference section
including example forgeries of the numerical issues, together with 1892 numeral issue multiples, and marginal blocks of 10 (3 c.) and 12 (4 c.), showing transfer rows and printing characteristics. Condition is mixed for the covers, as expected, with
some staining, edge wear, faults and occasional stamp removal, but the group remains a fine and important specialist assembly (Image 1)

1920s: A wide ranging and interesting accumulation of more than forty airmail covers and pieces, offering a rich cross-section of early Liberian airmail and commercial correspondence. The group spans a variety of
frankings, routes, and usages, with material addressed to destinations including the United States and Europe, reflecting the developing international postal connections of Liberia during the interwar period. The collection includes a range of
adhesives, from definitive issues to overprinted and provisional usages, often in mixed frankings that illustrate the practical realities of postal supply and rate changes. Several covers display multiple adhesives tied by clear Monrovia
cancellations, with manuscript and handstamped registration or routing markings. In particular two covers, which stand out as especially desirable within the group and; 1924 registration 10 c. grey & orange (F32) used as a single franking on a
1925 cover to Berlin, very rare use, and a 1920 Official 30 c. brown & red (O121) used in combination with official 10 c. red violet & black (both "OS") and a 1921 20 c. brown & ultra "OFFICIAL" on 1923 cover to Trieste, the 30 c. gray
& orange seldom seen. The group also contains a number of registered and commercial envelopes, including missionary and business correspondence. Condition is mixed, as expected for a working accumulation of commercial mail, some faults including
creasing, edge wear, and occasional staining, although many items remain sound and attractive. An interesting and scarce group (Image 1)

Airmail 1930/40s: A select and attractive group of seventeen Liberia airmail covers, chiefly dating from 1937 to 1947, representing a well-chosen range of commercial, philatelic, and special usages, with several
items of clear postal-historical interest. The principal highlight is the crash cover of 23 March 1938, carried on the West African service (Air France flight crashed into Mount Cinq Croix in the Pyrenees Mountains), a scarce and desirable survivor,
bearing appropriate markings and showing the character expected of such disrupted mail. Alongside this is a pleasing range of better frankings and rate combinations, including usages of the 1937 triangular airmail issue in combination with later
definitives and pictorial stamps. The group includes a variety of commercial airmail envelopes addressed to the United States and Europe, several with registered markings, instructional handstamps, and routing cachets. There are also examples of more
unusual rate constructions and meter usages, which will appeal to specialists in postal rates and routes. Of particular note is a correct and commercial usage of the Roosevelt issue (C51) rarely seen, as well as later covers including a neat Roberts
Field 1949 usage bearing a single 25 c. airmail stamp. Destinations represented include the United States, Denmark, Switzerland, France, and Germany. Condition is mixed as is typical for this type of material, though many items are fine or better,
with clear cancellations and good overall appearance (Image 1)
